To some, art is any visual representation of an object or maybe, imagination. Clearly, the answer to this question all lies on the viewer’s perspective. Having said that, it is safe to say that there’s no concrete answer as art has something to do with aesthetics. Fashion and Art is the Same

Speaking of aesthetics, every one of us has different tastes in regards to aesthetics and does, sees art in totally different ways. The same is true with fashion as well. For example, whenever fashion designers are performing research for their upcoming collection, they are using inspiration from whatever is around them.

These designers are all interested in forms and shapes and enthralled by colors. That’s not all; they are also intrigued about cultural, historical or even social issues. Having said that, they are visiting art galleries and museums, artist archives, and studios to expand their knowledge of a certain subject. As with cinema, architecture, visual arts, and installations, creativity plays a big influence in combining art with fashion.

Fashion Designers are Deeply Concerned about Art too

It would be completely inappropriate to just think that fashion designers are shallow. Believe it or not, their final product always has gone through an intellectual process. Let’s just name few designers that transcended from fashion and art.

Prada

One collection for Prada which is the AW16 was designed by Christophe Chemin was actually inspired by French revolutionary calendar. It changed the names of religious days and saints for seed, tree and flower terminologies. The calendar was then adopted in 1793 but was repealed by Napoleon in 1806. This was more of a romantic collection that is related to nature and women.

Versace

The 1991 collection of Gianni Versace is still a popular homage to Andy Warhol and pop art. The collection boasts series of designs along with silk-screened portraits of James Dean as well as Marilyn Monroe and of course, covers from Vogue magazines.

Louis Vuitton

LV is the house that made the most collaborations and at the same time, art-inspired collections in their arsenal. Their most recent work was just in 2017 in which Jeff Koons designed accessories and bags with well-known masterpieces and the artist’s name in big and bold letters.
